About the event
We've got a full case of 6, but what exactly is this all about? The Thompson Bros Mystery Malt Series is a blind-tasting single malt Scotch whisky release featuring over 10,700 opaque black bottles. Each bottle contains one of 38 different single malts aged between 5 and 27 years, sourced from various established distilleries like Clynelish, Glen Garioch, and Ben Nevis as well as newer distilleries like Ardnamurchan and Dornoch. The true identity of the whisky is hidden under the capsule and revealed only upon opening.
The whiskies included in a case of the Thompson Bros. Mystery Malt are selected using a mixing system designed to ensure variety and balance. Each case contains six different bottles, which are distributed in a way that attempts to represent the average overall "value" of the entire series.
